CHESTER ZOO
Chester Zoo based in Cheshire is one of the UK largest Zoo's set in 51 Hectares. In July 2015 it was named as the best zoo in the UK. With not only a wonderful selection of animals, but also with some incredible enclosures. The New Lion Enclosure is stunning, as is the New Tropical House, that is based on the Islands, where you can take a Boat Ride through a variety of Countries.
It is a wonderful day out for all the family, dont miss this experience!!
PARK HALL FARM
Park Hall Farm is near Oswestry and is a fantastic day out for all the family. There is SO much to do, from lamb Feeding and Milking a Cow, to Pig Racing, Tractor Rides, Animal Handling and Petting, Peddle Tractors, Soft Play, Out Door Play areas, Bouncy Castles, along with a café and a shop, its a fun packed day!! There is also a Military Museum on site along with a World War II Trenches Experience!!!
HAWKSTONE FOLLIES
Hawkstone Follies near Weston-Under-Redcastle, is a wonderful walking adventure, roaming through incredible Follies, Caves and Walk Ways, there is a Magical Trail for the children to follow and it welcomes dogs as well. So a perfect day to tire out all of the family. There is a cafe and shop on site as well!!!
RAF COSFORD
RAF Cosford is FREE to enter and you are able to discover the amazing stories of those who have served in the RAF. Housed in their wartime hangars and in the National Cold War Exhibition you will find a fantastic display of aircraft and exhibits. Learn about the bravery of pilots in Test Flight and see the last surviving example of a Boulton Paul Defiant Mk 1 in War in the Air.
BEWILDERWOOD
BeWILDerwood is located just 10 miles from our Barns. Based around the magical children's books written by author and creator of BeWILDerwood, Tom Blofeld. The whole family can spend hours running, whizzing and clambering on the sustainable wooden play structures, from aerial ropewalks to climbing walls, balancing logs and muddled mazes in a beautiful forest location. With the Cosy Cabin and the Munch Bar serving food. Not to be missed!!!
THE ICE CREAM FARM
The Ice Cream Farm based in Tattenhall, is a fun filled day for the family, with over a 110 different flavours of Ice Cream to choose from!!!! To keep everyone entertained there is a Mini Farm, Crazy Golf, Soft Play, Indoor Sand and Water Play, Silent Disco and a wonderful Ice Cream Tree!!! It can get very busy so we recommend an early start!! There is a cafe and shop on site as well.
ALDERFORD LAKE
Alderford lake is just 2 miles from your cottage and offers a fantastic array of Water Activities from the Aqua Park to Paddle Boarding and much more. There is a cafe on site and it is also Dog Friendly.
If you want to enjoy the Aqua Park then you will definitely need to Book ahead of your stay.
THE CROCKY TRAIL
The Crocky Trail near Chester, is a great day out for the slightly older child. The day is filled with Sliding, Balancing, Swinging and Jumping and getting a little bit muddy!!! Great fun and not to be missed!!!
BLUE PLANET AQUARIUM
Blue Planet Aquarium is home to more than 100 living displays, as well as one of Europe’s largest collections of sharks, the aquarium offers plenty of marine life to marvel at.
Take a wander through our Underwater Shark Tunnel and watch as a kaleidoscope of sharks and fish swim over your head. A wet weather day out!
HACK GREEN BUNKER
The Hack Green Secret Nuclear Bunker is a former government-owned nuclear bunker located at Hack Green, Cheshire, England . Signpost showing directions to the secret bunker. The first military use of the area was in World War II, when a Starfish site was established at Hack Green. Cafe on site.
SHREWSBURY PRISON
The World MOST interactive prison!! Shrewsbury Prison is an excellent day out for a family or group experience, offering a simple Tour with a cup of coffee or you can hire an Escape Room or do a Prison Break!! Whatever you do you will enjoy it. It is also Pet Friendly!!

If you’re looking for a family day out that’s creative and fun.......then look no further, Doodle Alley is a pottery painting studio suitable for all the family. They are based just off the High Street in Whitchurch town centre and offer a great place to relax and paint. You don’t have to be ‘arty’ to sit back and have fun making your own little masterpiece. A fantastic day for all ages and abilities and you can bring your own food and drink to add to the day!!
